In the Bollywood industry, there are so many celebrities out there. Some just renowned by there name and some are just known for there talent. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of those jewels which Indian film industry is proud to have.
We saw him in many different roles like an innocent reporter in the “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, a cruel and funny villain in “Kick” and lots of the other roles. His most popular roles were the “Faisal Khan” in the movie “Gangs of Wasseypur” and the recent sensation “Ganesh Gaitonde” in the “Sacred Games”. Whatever the role is, he is perfect in all and now he is doing his new film “Manto” which is based on the life of a Pakistani writer Saadat Hasan Manto. This was a very special role for him because with this role he tried to change the mindset of society as the Manto tried to do many years ago.

This film was so much special to him that he took only 1 Rs as the charge for doing the lead role in the film. Not only him this film also have so many big stars as the cast like Rishi  Kapoor, Javed Akhtar, and Gurdas Mann and they didn’t even charge a penny for there roles. This report was published in the India Times where the director of this film Nandita Das said that life is not all about money, there are lot more things in life and sometimes people should do something great not just thinking about money and they will get the return in terms of experience.

But the question is what’s so great about this film that everyone is doing this kind of things?
This film is based on the writer Saadat Hasan Manto who was a writer who picked his pen with a mission of changing the typical mindset of society and show them what is right and what is wrong. He started his career as an author after the division of India and Pakistan in the year 1947. He wrote so many dramas, nonfiction stories, and novels. He usually wrote his stories on the social incidents like India division and Jallianwala Bagh massacre. His writings were not accepted by the normal people and he was tried for obscenity six times. He said in the court that if people can not tolerate his writings that means they can’t tolerate the society. It is because he always used his writings as the mirror of society.

This type of personality was in the dark and his works were not appreciated as much as it deserves to get. So, this film Manto is a small effort to let people aware of these things. The film was first time released on 13 May 2018 at the Cannes film festival and it will release in the Indian theatres on 21 September 2018. I will suggest everyone go to the cinema hall and watch this film so you can be also a part of something great and as Nandita Das said, you will get it in return in the form of a great experience.
